Same crew. Same standard.

J4 Fencing & Services builds custom entry gates, galvanized steel, ornamental, and pool and privacy fence for Texas homeowners. Smaller scope than our commercial work. Same crew. Same standard. Family-owned, in fence since 1994.

What J4FS builds for homeowners.
Custom entry gates lead this division — single and double drive-through, electric and automated, stone and stucco columns, ornamental and brand-stamped. Galvanized steel fence as the default material rec for long service life. Ornamental fence for decorative perimeter and pool. Pool fence built to Texas state and municipal code with self-closing, self-latching gates. Privacy fence in cedar, pressure-treated, vinyl, or steel with privacy panels. Residential is a smaller part of what we do, built to the same crew standard as everything else we put in the ground.
Four Lines of Residential Work

Custom gates lead.
Steel runs deep.

The entry sets the tone for the property. The fence material decides how long the rest of it lasts.

01 / Custom Gates

Custom Entry Gates

Single and double drive-through, walk-through, electric and automated sliding, stone or stucco column entries, ornamental panel gates, brand-stamped signage. Galvanized steel, powder-coated ornamental, or custom welded. The gate is the first thing visitors see and the last thing they pass on the way out. We build it that way.

02 / Steel

Galvanized Steel Fencing

Our default residential rec. Galvanized steel resists fire, rot, and insects, holds straight, and lasts decades. Better value over the life of the fence than modern wood. Black, primer, or powder-coated finish. Used for perimeter, side-yard, and back-yard residential applications.

03 / Ornamental

Ornamental & Custom

Powder-coated ornamental fence in black, bronze, and custom colors. Decorative perimeter, pool surround, courtyard, and front-yard accent fence. Pairs cleanly with custom entry gates. Built to last with the visual statement homeowners want at the curb.

Why we lead with steel.

The cedar that built the long-lasting fences of past generations was 100-plus-year old-growth timber. Modern new-growth wood posts are softer, decay faster, and do not warrant the labor.

Galvanized steel resists fire, rot, and insects. It holds straight. It lasts decades. For most residential applications it is the better value over the life of the fence.

We still build wood when a customer asks. We just recommend steel first.

Frequently Asked

Residential questions, straight answers.

Why does J4 Fencing recommend galvanized steel over wood for residential fence?

The cedar that built the long-lasting fences of past generations was 100-plus-year old-growth timber. Modern new-growth wood posts are softer, decay faster, and do not warrant the labor. Galvanized steel resists fire, rot, and insects, holds straight, and lasts decades. For most residential applications it is the better value over the life of the fence. J4 Fencing still builds wood when a customer asks, but our default recommendation is steel.

What custom entry gate options does J4 Fencing build for residential?

Single drive-through, double drive-through, walk-through, electric and automated sliding gates, stone or stucco column entries, ornamental panel gates, and brand-stamped signage. Materials range from galvanized steel to powder-coated ornamental to custom welded designs. The gate is the first thing visitors see and the last thing they pass on the way out, so we build it that way.

Does J4 Fencing build pool fence to Texas code?

Yes. Texas residential pool fence requires a minimum 48-inch barrier with self-closing, self-latching gates and gaps small enough to prevent child access. J4 Fencing builds to current state and municipal code, including local code requirements that may exceed the state minimum.

What privacy fence materials does J4 Fencing build with?

Cedar, pressure-treated wood, vinyl, and ornamental panels with privacy slats. Galvanized steel privacy is also available for customers who want the longevity of steel with the screening of a privacy fence. J4 Fencing matches the material to the customer's lifespan expectation and budget.

How long does a galvanized steel residential fence last?

A properly installed galvanized steel residential fence resists rust, rot, fire, and insects, and holds straight for decades under normal Texas weather. Service life depends on soil conditions, coastal exposure, and how the fence is maintained, but galvanized steel is the longest-lived residential option J4 Fencing builds.

Where does J4 Fencing build residential fence?

Wharton, Matagorda, Austin, Colorado, Lavaca, Jackson, and Fayette counties are the primary residential service area. Headquartered in El Campo, Texas. We will travel further for the right job, but residential is concentrated in our home counties.
